Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, who had previously made statements that housing would be delivered within a year following the earthquake disaster, has returned to the agenda with his social media post saying, "We have not forgotten, we will not forget."

However, this post further increased the reaction of those criticizing the minister. In their social media comments, earthquake survivors directed harsh criticism at Minister Kurum regarding many issues, such as delayed intervention, inadequate rescue operations, and the failure to deliver promised housing.
