The Ministry of Trade has imposed trade restrictions on Israel across 54 product groups following rising criticism throughout the country regarding trade with Israel.
After 'Aviation Gasoline-Jet Fuel' was included among these products, allegations that 'Baykar sold it' became a trending topic on social media.
Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar posted a statement saying that "a vile and dishonorable smear campaign is being conducted on social media against Baykar and its executives regarding aircraft fuel."
Bayraktar stated the following:
"COMPENSATION WILL BE TRANSFERRED AS AID TO GAZA"
"A vile and dishonorable smear campaign is being conducted on social media against Baykar and its executives regarding aircraft fuel.
Baykar is a company that has provided the largest humanitarian aid from Turkey to Gaza. Our company's sole field of activity is unmanned aerial vehicle systems.
I will take those who spread this slander to court and follow the process. Any compensation that arises will be transferred as aid to Gaza."
In a second post, Bayraktar also targeted Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
"STOP SETTING YOUR LEASHED DOGS ON US"
Bayraktar stated the following:
"For us, there is no pride of the ego, there is only the pride of the work you do. The slanders you throw do not leave even a speck of dust on us.
Both our nation and the people of Gaza know our stance well.
I looked to see who the lowlife was that spread the slander that we sold jet fuel to Israel.
I saw that they were part of the strategy team managing the İBB Mayor's communication campaigns. They write articles saying 'Alevis should also have their own PKK' and glorify the DHKP-C.
I am calling out to Ekrem İmamoğlu, who feeds these PKK members:
Stop setting your leashed dogs on us.
If you have anything to say other than lies, say it to our faces like a man so we can give you an answer."
