Following the incident, the Ministry of Interior announced that Dede has been temporarily suspended from his duties, noting that the investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
In the announcement made by the Ministry, it was reported that Hasbi Dede was referred to court on February 10, 2026, as part of the 'Sexual Harassment of a Child' investigation launched by the Görele Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and was arrested by the Görele 1st Criminal Court of First Instance. The statement included the following: 'Giresun province Görele Mayor Hasbi Dede has been suspended from duty as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, due to his arrest by the Görele 1st Criminal Court of First Instance with decision number 2026/17 D. iş for the crime of 'Sexual Harassment of a Child,' following his referral to court on February 10, 2026, as part of the investigation numbered 2026/332 by the Görele Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of 'Sexual Harassment of a Child'.'
