Hatay residents who fled to Istanbul after the earthquake are returning home
Following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Istanbul, earthquake survivors from Hatay who had experienced the disaster of the century and migrated to Istanbul have begun returning to their hometowns out of fear and anxiety.

Citizens living in Hatay, which suffered massive destruction in the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, had migrated to major cities and surrounding provinces after the disaster of the century. Living with the fear and anxiety of earthquakes, the disaster survivors were negatively affected by the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul the other day and have begun returning to their hometowns. While all tickets for buses operating between Istanbul and Hatay have been sold out, tickets for additional services launched by companies have also been exhausted. Citizens arriving in Antakya from Istanbul have begun to create congestion at the bus terminal.

Stating that she went to Istanbul for education after the disaster of the century, Senem Doğan said, "I study in Istanbul, I came to Hatay. I had gone to study after the February 6 earthquake, and I was caught in another earthquake. I am very unhappy, no precautions are being taken. Let precautions be taken now, the people there are helpless. Everyone is trying to flee Istanbul. I found the first ticket and came immediately because I had experienced an earthquake before. I also have school, I don't know what to do. I have to go back again."

Stating that she returned to her hometown with her family after the earthquake that occurred the other day, Zehra Aslan said, "We are coming from Istanbul, we are going to Altınözü. My son was in Istanbul and I had gone to visit them. We were afraid of the earthquake and came."

Kamil Koç bus company employee Turgay Kaplan stated that there are no empty seats left on the Istanbul-Hatay routes and said, "All our services between Istanbul and Hatay are full. We have no empty seats. We have 11 services a day, all of them are full, and our additional services are also full right now. We have no seats left, it is quite busy due to the earthquake."
