LATEST STATUS ON TOKİ 250,000 HOUSING UNITS
TOKİ has announced the tender calendar for new housing construction, infrastructure, and landscaping works. The tender process, which began on November 7, is planned to continue until June 2025.
In his statement regarding the project, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum stated that applications would be made available to citizens by the end of the year or in the first months of 2026.
When asked by a student whether there is any new work to support young people in becoming homeowners, Minister Kurum responded as follows:
"In our previous project, we reserved such a quota for our friends who are 18 years of age or older and do not own a home. Hopefully, we will again reserve a quota for our young people in the project that we are currently working on and will present to our citizens by the end of the year or the beginning of next year. Our young people who have turned 18 will be able to apply for this project. Our friends will perhaps start their lives with a home of their own. This is a very important advantage. Apart from this, as you know, we are carrying out these projects all over Turkey. In terms of social housing, we have brought 1.5 million social housing units to our country across 81 cities to date. Hopefully, we will continue to add new ones to these."
