ÇİFTÇİ HAD COMPARED ERDOĞAN TO ABDULHAMID
On the other hand, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, in a speech he gave at the AKP Kırşehir Provincial Presidency on April 4, had described President Erdoğan and Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid in a similar manner. Çiftçi had said, "Whatever Abdulhamid Han was in the past, our President is the same today. There is no difference at all."
In that speech, Çiftçi had also added the following:
"Abdulhamid Han was the head of the Islamic ummah of that period; today, our President is the same. He is a leader who comes once every 100 years. We must know the value of our President. Everyone has pinned their hopes on him. Back then it was Abdulhamid Han, now it is our President. We want to see his value at our head again in a stronger way."
