The investigation into the brutal murder of Narin Güran in Diyarbakır continues.
A video of Narin Güran's father, Arif Güran, who was released after being detained as part of the investigation, has emerged and is set to spark much discussion.
The conversation between businessman Ferit Kaya and Narin's father, Arif Güran, following a visit to the Tavşantepe neighborhood where 8-year-old Narin Güran was laid to rest, was recorded on a mobile phone camera.
"THEY SHOULD HAVE COME AND TAKEN THEIR REVENGE ON ME..."
Speaking with Kaya, father Arif Güran said, "They are relatives, uncle and nephew. When they are relatives, they say 'He is my uncle, he is our nephew.' Even if they are all relatives, I will not give up. Everyone knows this. Whoever has a hand in this, whoever has a finger in it, once the state brings it out with evidence... Since they are heartless, they should have come and killed me. They should have come and taken their revenge on me."
"THAT CHILD'S PLACE IS NOT THE GRAVE, HER PLACE RIGHT NOW IS SCHOOL"
Kaya replied, "Brother, that child's place is not the grave, that child's place right now is school. There is no such thing. An 8-year-old child."
Narin's uncle, Erhan Güran, who was present, said, "It is a place with 20 residents, not 90-100. They are all relatives. They hold meetings among themselves, they do things. That dishonorable person did it, killed the child, and in this process, they kept all our children out of school. No one is going to school. This is the kind of society we are."
