Meriç Kahraman, the wife of Tayfun Kahraman, who suffered an MS attack, provided an update on his health status, stating that he is receiving high-dose cortisone treatment for the acute attack and drawing attention to the sensitivity of the process.

City planner Tayfun Kahraman, who is imprisoned as part of the Gezi Park trial, was hospitalized two days ago following a severe MS attack. His wife, Meriç Kahraman, provided a new update for Kahraman, whose health status has been a matter of public concern.
In her statement, Meriç Kahraman said, "I would very much like to be able to tell you that 'Tayfun is in good condition'," while noting that he is receiving high-dose cortisone pulse therapy to bring the acute MS attack under control. Stating that she learned the treatment protocol has also been updated by physicians, Kahraman emphasized that as a family, their top priority is controlling the attack Tayfun is experiencing.
The full text of Kahraman's statement is as follows:
"As you know, my husband Tayfun Kahraman was hospitalized due to an MS attack he experienced, and his treatment is ongoing. I visited him at the hospital today.
First of all, I would like to thank all state institutions and officials, especially the Ministry of Justice officials who have shown the necessary sensitivity during this process, as well as the hospital administration and all medical staff.
As you can appreciate, it is not possible for me to inform everyone individually who is curious about Tayfun's condition.
I would very much like to be able to tell you, 'Tayfun is in good condition.'
Currently, Tayfun is receiving high-dose cortisone pulse therapy to bring the acute MS attack he suffered under control. I also learned that the physicians have decided to make changes to the treatment protocol that has been ongoing since 2016.
As his family, our priority is to bring the attack Tayfun is experiencing under control.
In this extremely critical, sensitive process that carries its own risks, we ask everyone to show maximum care.
I will share updates regarding Tayfun's health status and the ongoing legal processes with the public here.

LEGAL PROCESS CONTINUES
The Constitutional Court ruled last summer that Tayfun Kahraman's "right to a fair trial" had been violated. However, this decision did not find a response in the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court; the court rejected both the requests for a retrial and release.
Following the rejection of the retrial request, the lawyers appealed to a higher court, the Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court. However, this court also did not accept the objection. Thus, the legal process continues without the Constitutional Court's decision being implemented.
