In Burdur, an ex-husband who had been released from prison on leave shot his ex-wife with a shotgun and then stabbed her before fleeing. The woman, who was critically injured, lost her life at the hospital where she was taken.

The incident occurred in the morning hours at a hotel in the Çavdır district. According to the information obtained, Özlem Şımarık (28), who divorced her ex-husband T.Y. (45) on January 14 and worked at a nightclub in the district, had started staying at a hotel located on the Çavdır-Antalya highway.

T.Y., who was opposed to Özlem Şımarık working at a nightclub, came to the hotel where his ex-wife was staying and began to argue with her.

Following the argument, T.Y. first shot Özlem Şımarık with the shotgun he had brought with him, then stabbed her in multiple places and fled the scene.

The critically injured young woman was taken to Çavdır State Hospital by an ambulance that arrived at the scene following reports made by bystanders to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Özlem Şımarık, who was taken under treatment at the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost her life. The police, who conducted investigations at the scene, have launched an operation to find the ex-husband T.Y., who has disappeared.

It was learned that the late Özlem Şımarık was a mother of 2 children, and that T.Y. had been in prison for the crime of intentional injury and had been released from prison on leave 1 week ago.
