Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced the names elected as members of the Court of Cassation by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK).
Among these names is İsmail Uçar, who had written a letter to the HSK regarding allegations of corruption and bribery involving certain prosecutors and judges.
With İsmail Uçar's election as a member of the Court of Cassation, his tenure as the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul Anatolian Courthouse has ended.
Minister Tunç conveyed his congratulations to the elected individuals and wished them success in their new duties.
Tunç's statement is as follows:
"I congratulate Hasan Yılmaz, Ahmet Akça, İsmail Uçar, and İhsan Kamil Akçadırcı, who were elected as members of the Court of Cassation by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, and wish them success in their new duties. May it be auspicious for our judicial community, our country, and our nation."
Furthermore, Yılmaz Tunç spoke regarding the 27 thousand 300 lira fine given to Muhammed Hasan Sheikh Mohamud, the son of the Somali President, who caused the death of motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer.
Tunç stated the following:
"(Regarding the case in which the son of the Somali President was tried as a result of the accident he was involved in) The penalty for a crime committed by negligence is at the discretion of the court. The fact that the complainant withdrew their complaint also led to such a result. The public case continued. The decision was in this direction regarding the amount of the penalty received."
