He had his wife obtain a 'poverty certificate': Şamil Tayyar calls on AKP regarding Altınsoy

It has emerged that a poverty certificate was issued to Serap Altınsoy, the wife of AKP Aksaray MP Hüseyin Altınsoy, to provide her with an exemption from court fees in an inheritance case. While an investigation has been launched into Taşpazar Neighborhood Headman Menderes Tunç, who is said to have signed the document, AKP member Şamil Tayyar has called on the party leadership to "confront" the issue.

AKP Aksaray MP Hüseyin Altınsoy’s wife, Serap Altınsoy, was reportedly issued a poverty certificate to obtain an exemption from court fees in an inheritance case. An investigation has been launched into Taşpazar Neighborhood Headman Menderes Tunç, who is said to have signed the document. It is stated that Tunç claimed he “had no knowledge of the incident.”

It was also alleged that Hüseyin Altınsoy had shown his wife, Serap Altınsoy, as working at his own consultancy office for approximately 2.5 years, and that the Social Security Institution (SGK) was misled through this method.

CALL FOR A “CONFRONTATION” TO THE AKP

AKP member Şamil Tayyar also made a statement regarding the allegations that have sparked public debate. In a post on his social media account, Tayyar issued a call to the party leadership.

“THERE IS NO EXPLANATION FOR THIS”

Şamil Tayyar used the following expressions in his statement:

“No denial has come so far, so let us state our opinion. Since we are poking others with a needle, let us not spare ourselves from the pin. For whatever reason, under current conditions, a member of parliament's spouse cannot and should not obtain a “poverty certificate” to avoid court fees. There is no explanation for this. At this stage, the document must be canceled, the court fee must be paid, and proceedings must be initiated against the headman who issued the document. As for the AK Party, it must confront Aksaray MP Hüseyin Altınsoy.”
