YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel visited Rize, the hometown of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as part of his Black Sea tour. After his meetings in Trabzon, Özel moved on to Rize, where he walked with citizens on Atatürk Street and visited local shopkeepers.

Citizens accompanying Özel during the walk chanted slogans of "Rights, law, justice."

RESPONSE TO ERDOĞAN REGARDING MARMARIS

After meeting with the citizens, Özgür Özel took the podium prepared for him and responded to President Erdoğan's remarks directed at CHP's Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü: "Our door is open if you want to come."

In his speech, Özel stated the following:

"Yesterday, he said to our beloved Marmaris Mayor who welcomed Erdoğan, 'Our door is open, come to our party if you want.' I have come to Erdoğan's hometown. The only thing I would say to the mayor of Rize elected from the AKP would be 'Good luck, Mr. Mayor.' We respect everyone's vote. Whoever the nation decides on, we hold in high regard. Politics is won by working; cities and municipalities are not won through transfers. Three years ago, after a major election defeat, we said that if the party changes, the country changes; we changed the party first. We held our first thematic rally in Rize. We founded the YENİ Party together. The YENİ Party is, of course, the party of CHP members, but it is the party of all democrats. It is the party of the Black Sea. Will we walk on the path to power? I trust Rize, I trust the people of Rize."

As part of his Rize program, Özgür Özel is expected to visit the village of Balıkçılar in the Pazar district later.
