Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a public lawsuit has been filed against Bedirhan Şener, the son of former Minister Abdüllatif Şener, at the Ankara 1st High Criminal Court for the crimes of "Intentional Killing of an Ascendant," "Attempted Intentional Killing of an Ascendant," and "Violation of Law No. 6136."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In the incident that took place in the Güvenevler neighborhood of the Çankaya district, an argument broke out between Bedirhan Şener, the son of former Minister Abdüllatif Şener, and his grandmother, Leyla Çetiner, at their home on Meneviş Street. As the argument escalated, Bedirhan Şener took his grandmother, Çetiner, hostage with a handgun. Upon this, Abdüllatif Şener reported the situation to police teams.
Following the report, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. During this time, Bedirhan Şener shot and killed his grandmother, Çetiner. While Şener was taken into custody by police teams, Çetiner, who was transported to a private hospital by ambulance, lost her life despite all interventions.
