He had opposed a sermon mentioning Atatürk: Now he has declared support for HÜDA PAR

Ahmet Bostancı, who walked out of a mosque in Gayrettepe during Friday prayers on the anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's passing in protest of prayers being said for Atatürk, and who insulted both Atatürk and the imam who led the prayer in a social media post, faced a demand for a prison sentence of up to 7 years, 9 months, and 15 days. Taking into account the time he had spent in detention and the fact that evidence had been collected, the court decided to release him.

Following Ahmet Bostancı's release, chants of "Long live Sharia" were shouted accompanied by takbirs at the Istanbul Anatolian Courthouse, where the hearing was held.

In a post on his social media account, Bostancı announced that he would vote for HÜDA PAR with the following words:

"We're going to vote for HÜDA PAR and leave, brother, eat each other. To your election and to you now"

VISIT TO HÜDA PAR CANDIDATE

Bostancı also visited the election tent of HÜDA PAR Ümraniye Mayoral Candidate Mehmet Laçin to show his support. Laçin shared the visit with the following words:

"My brother Ahmet Bostancı stopped by our election tent on our final day and renewed his support. May he be well, may he exist. 'Walk on, brother, may the strength of Jerusalem come to your feet'"
