An indictment has been prepared seeking a prison sentence ranging from 19.5 years to 34 years and 6 months for the suspect who wounded mosque imam Kurra Hafız Galip Usta and congregant Bilal Erdem with a knife at Fatih Mosque.
The investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, in which Galip Usta and Bilal Erdem were wounded by a knife and Yusufcan İslam was wounded as a result of battery, has been completed.
The Istanbul 35th High Criminal Court, which accepted the indictment prepared as a result of the investigation, decided that the first hearing will be held on May 15.
In the indictment, it was requested that the defendant Ömer Salgın be sentenced to 18 to 30 years in prison for the crime of "attempted intentional murder" against Galip Usta and Bilal Erdem, and 1.5 to 4.5 years in prison for the crime of "intentional injury" against Yusufcan İslam.
