He had threatened Ekrem İmamoğlu with death: Statement from İmamoğlu's lawyer

A criminal complaint has been filed against the individual who threatened Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu with death on social media. 

Kemal Polat, one of İmamoğlu's lawyers, made a statement regarding the matter. 

Polat stated the following: 

"We have filed a criminal complaint against the individual who did not hesitate to make posts reaching the point of recklessly threatening Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu with death. We expect and hope that he will be apprehended as soon as possible and held accountable before the law. Mr. İmamoğlu should not be made a target through irresponsible posts and rhetoric; we believe in and expect our judiciary to do what the law requires..."
