In an incident that took place on the night of June 26 in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, 23-year-old A.K. went out in the evening to buy dessert for his wife, who was 8 months pregnant. While walking in Kemalpaşa Neighborhood, three people blocked his path. The attackers attempted to take A.K.'s mobile phone and money. As the struggle escalated, A.K. was subjected to a knife attack and was wounded in six places on his body, including his heart. Citizens in the area immediately notified the police and medical teams for the young man, who collapsed to the ground severely wounded.
Upon hearing the news of the incident, his pregnant wife suddenly faced the risk of premature birth due to the stress and fear she experienced. The expectant mother was taken to the same hospital and, following rapid examinations, was urgently taken for a cesarean section.
FATHER AND SON BOTH DISCHARGED FROM INTENSIVE CARE
Following the treatments initiated at the hospital, both A.K. and the newborn baby were kept under observation in intensive care units for a long time. At the end of the period spent in intensive care, the health conditions of both the mother and the baby gradually improved. The entire family was discharged from the hospital after their treatment processes were completed.
It was learned that one of the three people involved in the attack was identified on the street by a security camera before the incident. In the footage, the moments when the suspects were walking together were recorded.
ARREST AND SEARCH OPERATIONS CONTINUE
Following the incident, the police identified the suspects and pursued them. As a result of the operations, H.B., who was identified as a perpetrator, was taken into custody and referred to the courthouse. H.B., who was sent to prison by the court's arrest decision, gave statements to judicial authorities throughout the process. Comprehensive operations by police teams are continuing to capture the other two suspects who are currently at large.
The events caused great concern in the neighborhood and the hospital. While the mother, father, and newborn baby have regained their health following the attack, the outcome of the efforts to capture the attackers is being awaited with curiosity.
