The incident occurred yesterday at Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Yiğitoğlu Secondary School. According to the allegations, teacher N.Ö. saw a student who had transferred from another school during the mid-term break engaging in peer bullying against another student and warned him. The student reacted to this by saying, 'You will learn how to treat me,' and called his father, Ali Ç., to the school. Ali Ç. arrived at the school and attacked teacher N.Ö., whom he saw in the hallway. N.Ö., who was injured by the kicks and punches of Ali Ç., was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The father, who was taken into custody, was arrested by the court after his procedures, and his statement has now emerged.

HE HAD FILED A COMPLAINT 1 MONTH AGO

The statement of the parent Ali Ç., who was sent to prison, has emerged. Ç. stated, "We had filed a criminal complaint regarding 'ill-treatment' against the school administration and classroom teacher N.Ö. at the Sarıyer Children's Bureau on 26/03/2024. I had given my statement regarding this matter as a complainant. On 25/04/2024, at around 11:00, I was in a meeting with District Governorate inspectors at Şair Nigar School in the Hisarüstü area regarding the matter I had complained about. During this time, my wife, Neslihan Ç., called me on the phone. She said that the school janitor, Mr. İlyas, had called her and that there was a problem regarding our son, Emir.

Then I got İlyas's number from my wife. I called İlyas and asked what the situation was. İlyas said that my son was having a panic attack, that the teachers were trying to take him upstairs, but that my son did not want to go. I asked for the phone to hear my son Emir's voice. My son said to me, 'Dad, come quickly, they locked me in a room and I escaped, they are trying to lock me in the room again, the principal, Necla teacher, and Sümeyra teacher are trying to make me sign things, come quickly, help.' Afterwards, İlyas took the phone and said the principal is coming and hung up on me. I called him repeatedly. Mr. İlyas answered the phone and said to me, 'The child is with me, don't rush, I am waiting for you.'"

"I HIT NECLA TEACHER IN A MOMENT OF ANGER"

Stating that he went to the school after this conversation, the father Ali Ç. said; "Mr. İlyas was at the door. I asked him where my child was. He told me that the principal had taken Emir upstairs. I went upstairs towards the principal's office. At that moment, my son came to me in a panic, crying. I sat him down to calm him down. My son Emir said to me, 'Dad, let's get out of here quickly, let's go home.' When I asked my son what had happened, he kept repeating the same things out of fear and did not say much.

I took my son and walked towards the principal's office. At that moment, I saw Necla teacher coming towards us from across the hallway, smiling with a teacup in her hand. She said to me mockingly, 'You will pay the price for complaining about me.' At that moment, involuntarily, due to my child crying next to me and a momentary feeling of anger and parental instinct, I hit Necla teacher. I do not remember exactly where I hit her. Afterwards, I went outside the school. No other situation occurred between us other than this incident. I am very regretful; as I stated in my testimony, I hit her in a moment of anger."
