He said 'Erdoğan's signature is under these lawsuits': First response to Ekrem İmamoğlu from the Palace!

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun responded to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who stated, "The President's signature is under the lawsuits filed against me."

An indictment has been prepared in the expert witness investigation launched against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

The prepared indictment seeks a prison sentence of 2 to 4 years and a political ban for İmamoğlu on charges of "Attempting to Influence a Judicial Officer, Expert Witness, or Witness."

İmamoğlu, who faces a potential prison sentence and political ban, reacted to the indictment, saying, "The name of the person making the effort to sideline me in politics is clear. It is the President."

In a subsequent post on his X account, İmamoğlu addressed AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating, "The President's signature is under the lawsuits in which a 25-year prison sentence is sought against me, not anyone else's; you cannot fool anyone. I invite him to the ring and to the ballot box like a man. Let him act like a man from Kasımpaşa and stop playing dirty tricks through the judiciary with Byzantine games. This nation loves those who are brave and honorable."


RESPONSE TO İMAMOĞLU FROM THE PALACE

A response to this post by İmamoğlu came from the Palace. Communications Director Fahrettin Altun targeted İmamoğlu in a post on his X account.

Stating, "The constant attempt by opposition politicians to associate legal processes regarding matters that have been referred to the independent judicial bodies of our state with our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is both a great slander against our President and an effort to disrupt judicial processes," Altun continued his post as follows:

Those types who, because they cannot find even a crumb in their bag in terms of serving the nation, make it a habit to slander and insult everyone they encounter, to occupy the agenda with all sorts of delusions to hide their dirty political calculations and relationships, and who struggle every day saying 'I wish Tayyip Erdoğan would acknowledge me' instead of doing their job and serving their city, should know that... 

Trying to wear down our President, whose political life and struggle span nearly half a century, with such slanders will gain neither you nor our nation anything. 

As a lesson you will not forget, we would also like to remind you that our nation made its choice in the 2023 elections, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whom you all lined up against, defeated all of you clearly at the ballot box. 

We advise those who direct absurd accusations at our President, a politician who has dedicated himself to serving the nation and works day and night for this cause, and a leader who has waged all his struggles together with his nation, to first read and understand Recep Tayyip Erdoğan thoroughly, and ultimately to see the facts and turn back from these mistakes.
