He searched Google before killing his wife: 'I didn't deserve this'

The incident took place on January 29, 2024, in the Esenevler neighborhood of the central Yıldırım district.

According to the information obtained, Turgay Kındaç began arguing with his wife, Seher Kındaç (42), who was in the process of divorcing him, and sent a message to his wife's sister saying, "I will kill your sister."

Upon the notification of the sister who saw the message, medical teams arrived at the house and determined that Seher Kındaç, who was lying motionless on the floor, had lost her life at the scene.

Teams from the Bursa Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch Murder Bureau detained the suspect, Turgay Kındaç, one day after the murder at City Square.

Confessing to the crime at the police station, Turgay Kındaç stated that he killed his wife, who was in the process of divorcing him, due to jealousy, saying, “After my wife took a photo with someone named Metehan at her workplace on the last day of 2023, she shared it on social media. On the day of the incident, an argument broke out again in the morning, and I hit my wife on the head with a rolling pin and then strangled her. However, I don't remember what I strangled her with."

HE ASKED THE SEARCH ENGINE

The investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included Seher Kındaç's autopsy report. The published report stated that she was killed by being strangled with a rope after being hit on the head with a rolling pin, and that there were hemorrhagic fractures in her jaw and throat area.

An aggravated life sentence was requested for the detained defendant Turgay Kındaç, who confessed to his crime, for the charge of "intentional killing against a spouse." After killing his wife, the defendant, who took her mobile phone and credit card, withdrew money from the card and sold the mobile phone, also faces up to 15 years in prison for the charges of "qualified robbery" and "gaining benefit by unauthorized use of another person's bank or credit card."

On the other hand, it was revealed that Turgay Kındaç had searched Google before killing his wife, asking, "How long does it take to strangle a person with a rope?"

"I KILLED HER DUE TO JEALOUSY"

Appearing before a judge for the first time at the 1st High Criminal Court, Kındaç apologized to his 2 sons in the courtroom and said in his defense, “I love my wife very much, I killed her due to jealousy. She had sent a photo and a heart to a friend named M. from her workplace.

I felt jealous. Thinking she was having an affair with him, I checked her phone. I was prepared to accept these. To prove my love for her, I drank bleach and ate rat poison on the day of the incident. While we continued to argue, my wife used provocative and inciting sentences toward me. When I saw the white cloth on the teapot in the kitchen, I laid Seher on the floor and killed her by strangling her with the cloth. I didn't deserve this," he reportedly said.

Speaking at the hearing, the couple's son, Hüseyin Kındaç (24), stated that he had left home 3 months before getting married and started living separately from his family, saying, "He was covering debts with more debt. He was using my mother's cards. Foreclosure notices were constantly coming to the house. He was no longer helping with the household expenses. This man was a person prone to violence. He had beaten my mother with an iron rod in the past; my mother had told us this later."

The couple's other son, Hürcan Kındaç (21), said in his statement, "I had heard about M. from my mother. M. would address my mother as 'Sister'. My mother would tell us these things. The defendant would take my mother's phone and constantly make expenditures from the accounts there. My mother would give me her phone. I even knew her password. She didn't have any bad things. My mother was hiding her phone so that my father wouldn't take her cards and make expenditures," he said.

While both of the defendant's sons filed complaints, the court panel ruled for the continuation of the defendant's detention and adjourned the hearing to a later date.
