CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned in Silivri Prison since March 23, has made a new statement.
The statement from İmamoğlu, sent through his lawyers, was shared on the X account named Presidential Candidate Office.
Drawing attention to recent poisoning cases as well as drought and economic hardships, İmamoğlu noted the following:
“We are being poisoned.
Our water is running out, our lands are desertifying.
We are becoming impoverished.
While our freedoms are being targeted, society is being held captive.
We are facing a mentality that traps our country and our nation in a narrow corridor, trying to leave them helpless and without resistance.
A loveless and disrespectful language, whose words are hatred and whose behavior is marginalization; which declares those who do not vote for them as traitors and terrorists, has spread everywhere.
It is our duty and our nation's duty to change and transform this dark order, this freak regime, and this oppression.
For justice, freedom, democracy, and the Republic!
For the path to abundance, prosperity, merit, and welfare; for a happy, peaceful, and hopeful future!
Now is the time for mobilization.
Now is the time for power!”
We are being poisoned.
