Tolga Aykut, owner of Mahzen Media, has been detained as part of a drug operation conducted by teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command under an investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Aykut is also known as the Chairman of the Board of TMT and CEO of Mahzen Media. Having previously served as the producer of the former Habertürk program 5. Gece, Aykut is now being named in a drug investigation.

Following the recent detention of several figures from the arts community over allegations of drug use, the investigation has also resonated within the media world. Four suspects, including former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, were arrested on charges of 'Purchasing, Accepting, or Possessing Drugs or Stimulants, and Using Drugs.'

Tolga Aykut's detention process took place as part of the expanded investigation currently underway. It was reported that the relevant gendarmerie teams are investigating the connections of individuals, including Aykut, within the media and tabloid world.

The detention of Tolga Aykut at his address, carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, was conducted within the framework of investigations launched into a series of allegations.

In the later stages of the investigation, it drew attention that a photograph emerged showing Tolga Aykut in the same venue as the detained former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy. The image also showed lawyer Rezan Epözdemir, who is also currently in custody.
