The official vehicle of Prof. Dr. Tolunay, Rector of Medipol University, which is owned by former Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca, was placed under surveillance by security units on suspicion of being used for prostitution. It was claimed that police teams searching the vehicle detained Tolunay's driver after discovering narcotic substances. The official driver was released after giving his statement at the police station.

According to the report by Muhammed Vefa from Elips Haber, security forces followed Tolunay's official vehicle on suspicion of prostitution. During the checks, narcotic substances were detected in the vehicle.

Before starting his position at Ankara Medipol University, Tolunay served as Deputy Minister of Health.

University Rectorate officials reported that the driver's employment was terminated following the incident.

Ankara Medipol University stated that it is unethical and immoral for some media outlets to distort a matter that has no connection to the institution or Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Tolunay, and that legal proceedings have been initiated regarding these reports.

In the statement made by the university, it was noted that a statement was needed regarding the news about Rector Tolunay's official vehicle and driver, and the following expressions were included:

"There has been a recent change of rector at our university, and the person who is the subject of the news, who worked as a driver in the private office of our previous rector, was dismissed and fired when our new rector took office. The individual in question was involved in a crime, was caught at his residence, and judicial proceedings were initiated against him. In the information provided by the security forces, it was stated that 'Y.O. was caught at his residence, the vehicle with license plate 06 AA 023 was found parked in front of the residence, and no criminal elements were found in the search of the person's residence and the vehicle.' Despite this, all details regarding the process have been shared with judicial authorities and developments have been followed closely. It is unethical and immoral to distort a matter that has no connection to our university and our Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Tolunay and report it as news."
