Health Minister Memişoğlu responds to 'private hospital for Syrians' claims: 'We provide all kinds of services'

Emphasizing that the claims circulating on social media based on statements by Konya Provincial Health Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koç do not reflect the truth, Minister Memişoğlu stated, “We provide all kinds of services to our guests. However, I think that those who use this with ill intent and the friends on social media who are misusing a few expressions our provincial director said 5 years ago are doing something wrong. Not only do we not have such a situation, but we also cannot make sense of it.”

Memişoğlu said, “I do not understand the mindset of the friends who are spreading a few words said 5 or 6 years ago according to the conditions of that day as disinformation on social media.”

Pointing out that the whole world saw how good Turkey's healthcare infrastructure was during the Covid-19 pandemic, Minister Memişoğlu said, “We are obligated to serve humanity in terms of health. At the same time, I would like to state that our own people have the right to receive the best healthcare services and that we are providing them. In no other country in the world is such widespread, free, and strong-infrastructure healthcare service with high-quality human resources provided.”

Wishing success to the newly appointed Amasya Governor Önder Bakan at the Amasya Governor's Office, which he visited, Memişoğlu also announced that the 600-bed Amasya State Hospital building, which has begun construction, is planned to be opened for service in the first months of 2026. AK Party Amasya deputies Haluk İpek and Hasan Çilez, Amasya Mayor Turgay Sevindi, and other officials also attended the visit.
