Heartbreaking detail in the murder of 18-year-old Ece Naz Macit

18-year-old Ece Naz Macit, who was shot in a house she was visiting in the Darıca district of Kocaeli on June 29, lost her life in the hospital where she was taken, despite all medical interventions. Following the incident, 3 suspects who were detained were arrested by the court, and the young girl's family has issued a call for justice.

"THEY CONSUMED MY CHILD, I WANT JUSTICE"

In the incident that took place at a house in the Sırasöğütler neighborhood, Ece Naz Macit, one of two young girls who went to the house for a visit, was shot. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Macit, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors.

Police teams conducting the investigation detained S.C.G., Y.O., and A.A., who were present in the house. After their procedures at the Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau, the 3 suspects were arrested and sent to prison on charges of "intentional killing" and "violation of Law No. 6136 on Firearms and Knives and Other Instruments."

Mother Döne Macit, experiencing the pain of losing her daughter, recounted the moment she received the news with these words:

"I was at home. My daughter had gone to her friend's house. I received news from my sister. That Ece had been involved in a fight. Then, just as I was leaving the house, my son's friends appeared at the door. There was an uneasiness in them. I asked, 'Did you hear something?' and they blinked. When I went downstairs, there was a huge crowd. Seeing that crowd made me even more uneasy. I felt that something bad had happened. They said Ece had been shot, and I collapsed right there."

Demanding that the perpetrators receive the harshest punishment, Macit stated, "They consumed my child. I want justice. I want justice from the state authorities. Someone shoots another person just because they are bored. Is it easy to raise a child? I used to watch these things until now, I used to feel sorry for others. Fire burns where it falls. Now my fire is burning where it fell. Tomorrow or the next day, this will be forgotten. It will be talked about for 3 or 5 days. Then what will happen? A week later, it will be another young person. I want justice. Let no one's actions go unpunished."

"NO ONE SHOULD SPEAK WITHOUT KNOWING"

Reacting to comments made on social media, Döne Macit said that the assessments regarding her daughter did not reflect the truth.

"They are making baseless comments. Comments like 'What was your daughter doing visiting someone?' I didn't leave her unsupervised. Nowadays, it's hard to get through to generations, to young people. Everyone raises their children, everyone has them. No one should speak without knowing. As parents, we knew our responsibilities. We were looking after our child, but she saw her friends as she saw herself, she trusted them. My daughter was a clean girl. She was well-intentioned, smiling, she had no harm to anyone. She had a laugh that was worth a lifetime. I want all 4 people to be tried. All 3 of them have a hand in this."

"SHE DIED WITH THOSE POTATOES IN HER HAND"

Sharing the details she learned about the moment her daughter lost her life, the grieving mother used the following expressions:

"I kiss your hands and feet, please hear my voice. I cannot be at peace until my child enters my dreams and says, 'Mom, I am fine.' My child went there hungry. The incident happened while she was preparing breakfast, frying potatoes. I don't even think about buying potatoes for my home anymore; they are forbidden in my house now. She died with those potatoes in her hand. What kind of act is it to shoot someone in the back while they are frying potatoes and facing the counter?"

"THEY TOOK MY FLOWER"

Ece Naz Macit's grandmother, Hayriye Gazi, also called for justice, saying, "May my child's blood not remain on the ground, I cannot bear it. She was my one and only. They took my flower and left. May her blood not remain on the ground, please. Let justice be served."
