Heavy rain and storm warning in Istanbul! Beware of stove poisoning due to lodos

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has issued a warning against stove poisoning due to the lodos (southwesterly wind) and storm expected to be effective starting from the afternoon of Thursday, January 18.

While generally cloudy and intermittently rainy weather is expected throughout the week, temperatures are forecast to remain 12-15 degrees above seasonal norms due to the mild air coming from the south.

The wind is expected to blow from the south (lodos) at storm force at times starting from Thursday afternoon. It was stated that this situation could affect open sea voyages and cause flue gas poisoning.
