Heavy rain and storms are on the way! Critical warning from Meteorology for 13 provinces

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that heavy downpours and short-term storms are expected in many provinces, particularly in the Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions. Citizens have been warned against risks such as floods, water inundation, lightning strikes, and roof damage.

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued critical warnings against severe weather events expected to affect the northern, central, and eastern parts of the country. Locally heavy downpours are expected, particularly in the eastern Black Sea region and the northern part of Eastern Anatolia. It is also stated that short-term but effective storms may occur in some regions.

PROVINCES WHERE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED

According to the Meteorology office, heavy downpours may be seen in Rize, Artvin, Ardahan, Kars, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, and the northern parts of Erzurum, as well as the inland areas of Giresun and Trabzon. Local precipitation is also expected to be effective in the vicinity of Sinop, Kastamonu, and Bingöl.

The precipitation will be in the form of thunderstorms and may create risks such as flash floods, water inundation, and lightning strikes in some regions.

TEMPERATURES ARE DROPPING

Air temperatures in the Black Sea and eastern regions are expected to remain 2 to 5 degrees below seasonal norms. While temperatures in the central regions are expected to remain close to normal, it was reported that they will remain above normal in the western and southern regions. Citizens were urged to be cautious against upper respiratory tract infections, particularly due to temperature fluctuations.
