In Ümraniye, Beykoz, Pendik, and Maltepe, the snowfall is expected to turn into a blizzard in some areas starting from the evening hours.

Authorities stated that Istanbul residents should be cautious and warned them to be particularly careful in traffic.

“The traffic restriction imposed on all types of motorcycles and motorcycle courier vehicles due to adverse weather conditions has been lifted as of 08:00 on Sunday, February 23, as a result of the evaluations made. It is important for our drivers to act in accordance with traffic rules and weather conditions in order to travel safely.”

With this announcement, it was declared that motorcycle couriers will be able to return to traffic as the snowfall loses its intensity.

COLD WEATHER TO CONTINUE

Meteorological authorities announced that one of the coldest nights of the year will be experienced in Istanbul tonight. While temperatures are expected to drop to sub-zero levels, it was stated that vehicle drivers, in particular, should be careful against icing.
