Heavy toll from nationwide storm: 2 dead, 10 injured

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has announced that 2 people have died and 10 people, including 4 soldiers, have been injured as a result of the storm that occurred across the country.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) had issued orange alerts in 47 provinces and yellow alerts in 29 provinces across the country, and warning messages had been sent to Governorates, District Governorates, Provincial AFAD Directorates, and citizens.

1492 REPORTS RECEIVED

A total of 1492 reports have been received so far from our provinces where precipitation warnings were issued, and our teams' intervention efforts are continuing without interruption. These reports came from;

?? 440 from İzmir

?? 345 from Antalya

?? 146 from Istanbul

provinces.

LOSS OF LIFE IN NATIONWIDE STORM

In its statement, AFAD said, "In Sinop, Erfelek, a structural collapse occurred in a building due to the storm, and 1 citizen who remained under the rubble lost their life. In Ankara, Şereflikoçhisar, 4 of our soldiers were injured as a result of falling glass due to the storm at the military barracks. In our Konya province, a collapse occurred while 5 of our citizens were inside a barn they had entered to take shelter from heavy rain; 1 citizen lost their life, and 4 citizens were transported to the hospital with injuries. In our Giresun province, 2 of our citizens were injured as a result of a roof being blown off."
