High temperature warning for Istanbul from AKOM: Avoid being under the sun between 11:00 and 16:00
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has warned citizens against temperatures expected to exceed 35 degrees and the risk of forest fires.

In a statement made by AKOM, it was noted that Istanbul, as well as the western and southern regions of the country, have come under the influence of air waves originating from Africa and the Persian Gulf.
The statement reported that temperatures are expected to rise above 35 degrees starting today, and as the sweltering weather is forecast to continue throughout the week, it was emphasized that the elderly, the sick, pregnant women, and children should not remain under the sun for long periods, especially between 11:00 and 16:00 when temperatures are most intense.
The statement also pointed to the hot and dry weather, issuing a warning that the risk of forest fires has increased.
