It is claimed that the latest meeting of the Turkish Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee was tense, marked by sharp remarks from Committee Chairman and AKP Ankara Deputy Fuat Oktay directed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation.

According to the claim reported by DW Türkçe, Oktay took the floor during the meeting where bilateral agreements signed with various countries were being discussed, stating that the information provided regarding texts with military and economic content was not sufficiently clear or satisfactory. Finding the presentations inadequate, Oktay turned to the ministry officials and expressed his reaction with the words, "You come here unprepared."

"THE PRESENTATIONS DID NOT SATISFY ME"

It was stated that Oktay continued to express his discomfort following a briefing given by one of Hakan Fidan's deputies at the meeting. According to the claim, after the explanations, Oktay argued that the presentations lacked concrete content, using the expressions, "Nothing has formed in my mind from what you have explained. You are speaking diplomatically, but the work being done cannot be explained here." It was reported that Oktay also clearly stated that he would not accept this situation.

OPPOSITION DEMANDS PARTICIPATION AT THE MINISTERIAL LEVEL

The report stated that opposition deputies brought up the issue that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan should come to the committee in person to provide information. However, it was noted that this request was met with opposition from Oktay. It was stated that Oktay expressed the view that Fidan's attendance at the meeting was not mandatory, saying, "The deputy minister represents the minister."

DW Türkçe shared the claim that the last two committee meetings were also the scene of similar debates and tense moments.
