Higher penalties coming for those who occupy 112! New regulation in Parliament
This week in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), increasing the penalties for those who call 112 unnecessarily is on the agenda. With the new regulation, fines will be increased from 250 TL to 1500 TL, while penalties of up to 15 thousand TL will be applied for false reports.

According to the current regulation, the 250 TL fine applied to those who call 112 unnecessarily will be increased to 1500 TL if the new proposal is accepted. Furthermore, for false reports that lead to teams being dispatched to the scene, the penalty will be 15 thousand TL if it is 'determined by a report that the notification is unfounded'.
These penalties, aimed at individuals who occupy 112 for non-emergency situations, persistently leave calls, or occupy the line with conversations, are being increased to ensure the efficient use of public resources and to prioritize real emergencies.
This regulation will be addressed within the scope of the Draft Law on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree-Law No. 375, which was prepared in line with the annulment decisions of the Constitutional Court.
WHEN WILL THE NEW PENALTIES COME INTO EFFECT?
The new penalties will come into effect after the proposal is accepted by the General Assembly of the TBMM and published in the Official Gazette.
