However, the fact that the vehicle was seen reaching a speed of 225 kilometers per hour in the post drew significant backlash.
Following the reactions, the highway gendarmerie issued a fine of 9 thousand 267 liras to Uraloğlu for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 percent.
The Minister made the following statement regarding the matter:
“I got behind the wheel to see the latest status of the Ankara-Niğde Highway. During this time, I unintentionally exceeded the speed limit, even if only for a short while. With the relevant video, I have effectively reported myself. Adhering to speed limits is a mandatory situation for everyone. The necessary penal action has been applied by our Highway Gendarmerie. I would like to inform the public that I will be much more careful from now on.”
