Hike in IMM nursery fees
With a decision taken at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council, the fees for nurseries operated by the municipality have been increased from 1,200 liras to 2,500 liras.

The third session of the IMM Council for July was held at the municipal building in Saraçhane, chaired by the 1st Deputy Speaker of the Council, Nuri Aslan.
During the council meeting, the price proposals applied in IMM nurseries under the "Yuvamız İstanbul" (Our Home Istanbul) umbrella were discussed following a proposal from the Child Services Branch Directorate.
The commission also expressed a positive opinion on the revised fee schedule proposal from the Financial Services Department's Revenue Branch Directorate. According to the revised 2024 fee proposal, the price, which was 1,200 liras, was increased to 2,500 liras. The decision was passed unanimously by the council.
PARKING ALLOCATION CANCELLED
The decision to allocate a landfill area in Pendik's Doğu neighborhood to the Pendik Municipality for 10 years to be operated as a parking lot, which was made in 2020, has been cancelled.
NEW REGULATION REGARDING PARKS IN BAHÇELİEVLER
The cancellation of the 2020 decision to allocate three parks in the Kocasinan neighborhood of Bahçelievler to the Bahçelievler Municipality was discussed.
The commission report requested the cancellation of the decision to transfer the Fetih, Erzurumlu İbrahim Hakkı, and Kıbrıs parks, for which all maintenance, repair, and cleaning are carried out by the Bahçelievler Municipality, to the municipality for a period of 10 years. The report further stated that it was deemed appropriate for the commercial areas within Fetih Park to remain under the authority of the IMM, while the Erzurumlu İbrahim Hakkı and Kıbrıs parks, along with their commercial areas, would be allocated to the Bahçelievler Municipality for 5 years to be used for public service.
Following the deliberations, the proposal was accepted unanimously as it came from the commission.
BAKIRKÖY'S PLANS PASSED BY THE COUNCIL
A zoning plan item regarding Bakırköy was also unanimously accepted by the council. With the decision taken, residents of Bakırköy who wish to renovate their homes within the scope of urban transformation will be able to transform their homes without the requirement of area and parcel consolidation. Bakırköy Mayor Ayşegül Ovalıoğlu thanked those who contributed and the council members after the decision.
With the decision passed by the council, the IMM will provide support ranging from 40 percent to 65 percent of the total cost to rights holders who wish to renovate their risky structures with KİPTAŞ, depending on their income status. Rent assistance of 9,000 TL will be provided to retirees living in risky buildings, and 7,000 TL to other rights holders.
Furthermore, it was decided at the council to sign a cooperation protocol between the IMM and Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) to receive consultancy services for studies to be conducted to increase Istanbul's disaster resilience.
After all items were discussed and decided upon, the council went into recess. The council, which will be closed in August, will reconvene on September 9.
