In 'terrorism' and 'corruption' investigations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 48 people, including CHP's Presidential Candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, as well as the mayors of Sisli and Beylikduzu, were arrested the day before yesterday.

Protests that began with the detention of IMM Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu continued following the arrest decisions.

While demonstrations led by students intensified, particularly on university campuses and in city centers, police conducted raids on the homes of many individuals in Istanbul, Izmir, and Eskisehir this morning.

A large number of people were detained during the raids.

OYKU ARIN'S FATHER CAGDAS YAZICI DETAINED

Cagdas Yazici, the father of Oyku Arin Yazici—who became known to the public through the 'Be Hope for Oyku Arin' campaign and clung to life following a bone marrow transplant—was also detained in a home raid.

Yazici's wife, Eylem Sen, wrote on her social media account, "My husband, Cagdas Yazici, was detained in a raid on our home this morning. Cagdas and everyone else who has been detained must be released. There is no salvation alone, either all together or none of us!"
