In the incident that occurred in the Yenikent neighborhood of Kızıltepe, primary school student Mahmut Atilla Sever was found hanging in his home by his family.
Upon notification of the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, health and police teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. Examinations confirmed that the young child had lost his life.
Following the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office, the body of Mahmut Atilla Sever was taken to the Kızıltepe State Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The cause of death of Sever, a 5th-grade student at Mehmet Akif İnan Middle School, is being investigated, and a comprehensive inquiry into the incident is underway.
