Horrific murder in Mersin: Body found inside a barrel

In the Bozyazı district of Mersin, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Doludeniz, a former faculty member at Selçuk University, was found dead inside a barrel at a waste disposal site.
Municipal workers who went to the dump site in the Ustalar neighborhood in the morning hours discovered a naked male body inside a plastic barrel with its hands and feet bound. Upon notification, gendarmerie and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
The body, which was determined to have begun decomposing during the initial examination, was taken to the Mersin Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. The autopsy confirmed that the body belonged to Prof. Dr. Selahattin Doludeniz, a retired faculty member from Selçuk University.
The Bozyazı District Police Department teams, who launched a large-scale investigation into the incident, have detained one suspect. The suspect's processing at the police station is ongoing.
