Horror in Antalya! Woman doused in gasoline by her ex-husband loses her life

Pınar Zorlu, who was doused in gasoline and set on fire by her ex-husband in Antalya, has passed away after a 20-day treatment process. Following the incident, her ex-husband was arrested and sent to prison.

In the incident that occurred on December 31, 2024, on İsmet Gökşen Street in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya, 36-year-old Pınar Zorlu, who had divorced her husband 20 days prior, began arguing with her ex-husband, 43-year-old Gürhan Ü., who followed her on a motorcycle while she was on her way to work. After arguing with her ex-husband for a while, the young woman continued walking. At that moment, her ex-husband, who followed her on his motorcycle, began chasing her. The man, who cornered his ex-wife behind a building on the street, poured a flammable substance on her and then set the young woman on fire with a lighter he had with him.

Bystanders rushed to help the young woman, who was engulfed in flames and screaming for help, by intervening with a fire extinguisher. The young woman was taken to a nearby private hospital by 112 Emergency Health teams who arrived at the scene and was placed under treatment. Gürhan Ü., who was captured shortly after, was arrested by the court and sent to prison following his procedures at the police station. In his statement, it was noted that he claimed his ex-wife's attitude toward him had changed after the divorce and that she did not let him see their child, stating, "I went to her workplace in the morning to talk. I bought gasoline from a gas station on the way. It was already on my mind. When we argued, I poured the gasoline and carried out the act." he had said.

SHE LOST HER 20-DAY BATTLE FOR LIFE

While Pınar Zorlu, whose body was covered in third-degree burns over 60 percent of its surface and whose health condition was critical, was continuing her battle for life at the Antalya City Hospital Burn Unit, bad news arrived regarding the young woman. It was learned that the young woman, who had been fighting for her life for 20 days, passed away around noon today. Her sister, Halime Levent, who said that Pınar Zorlu had been living under threat for some time, stated, "He said, 'Next time you won't have the chance to press KADES.' He was also saying in front of the child, 'I will destroy you, we will all disappear.'" she had said. Meanwhile, it was learned that Pınar Zorlu's funeral will be held tomorrow.
