The hotel had been sealed: Statement on the health status of tourists hospitalized

Two tourists staying in Fatih were hospitalized with complaints of nausea and vomiting; Provincial Health Director Abdullah Emre Güner announced that the patients are in good condition.

In Istanbul's Fatih district, two tourists staying at the same hotel where a mother and her two children lost their lives due to suspected food poisoning after consuming mussels and baked potatoes (kumpir) sought medical attention yesterday with similar complaints. The tourists, who were hospitalized due to symptoms of nausea and vomiting, have been placed under treatment.

UPDATE FROM PROVINCIAL HEALTH DIRECTOR GÜNER

Istanbul Provincial Health Director Abdullah Emre Güner made a statement regarding the health status of the tourists via his social media account.

"THEIR GENERAL CONDITION IS GOOD, MONITORING CONTINUES"

In his post, Güner stated the following:

"The general condition of the two foreign tourists who presented to our Taksim Training and Research Hospital with complaints of nausea and vomiting from the hotel where they were staying in Fatih is good, and their monitoring continues. A third person staying in the same room who was accompanying the patients was also admitted for examination due to a low heart rate; they responded rapidly to the treatment administered and their general condition is good."
