Ali Önder, the brother of DEM Party member Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who is continuing his treatment in Istanbul, has made a statement regarding his brother's health.
Speaking to members of the press in front of the hospital in Şişli where TBMM Deputy Speaker and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder is receiving treatment, his brother Ali Önder said the following:
"At this point, the information provided to us by our doctors indicates that his condition is stable and that the outlook is positive for a patient in intensive care. However, as you can appreciate, we are talking about an 11-hour surgery, so there is always a risk. In this sense, we say it is in God's hands. But the fact that his condition remains stable makes us happy. It is said that this is a positive process for the patient. It is a positive process for his body and organs to rest. We are hopeful, we are waiting. We know that things like hand movements or finger movements are not a definitive measure.
My niece had seen that reaction when she first visited, but there are stages to this. There is a sedation process. I am careful not to enter the intensive care unit. A miracle was performed here. Our doctors practically dug a well with a needle. I don't want to go in and leave anything behind. In a hospital environment, no matter how sterile you enter, there is that risk. It is fine if I don't see him; I am satisfied with the information provided by the doctors. When that operation took place, our doctors had not closed his chest as a precaution. But yesterday, they decided it could be closed, and they closed it."
