How the taxi driver taken hostage neutralized the armed suspect

New footage has emerged regarding the armed hostage crisis that took place in the afternoon in the Araban district of Gaziantep. It is alleged that Semih Ç. (31) and Gülbahar Y. (36), who is claimed to be his girlfriend, took a taxi driver hostage at gunpoint and fled in the vehicle.

Upon receiving the report, police teams took action and began tracking the taxi carrying the suspects. The chase, which started in the Araban district, continued all the way to the Gaziantep city center.

The suspect, who is said to have opened fire on police teams during the escape, resisted for a long time to avoid surrendering. While extensive security measures were taken around the taxi, which was stopped in the city center, the moments were captured by citizens' mobile phone cameras and the vehicle's dashcam.

TAXI DRIVER NEUTRALIZED THE SUSPECT

In the dashcam footage that emerged, it was seen that the taxi driver, who had been taken hostage, intervened to neutralize the suspect. The moments when the driver opened the vehicle door and helped police teams remove the suspect from the car were captured on camera.

It was learned that the suspect, who was taken into custody, is still undergoing processing at the police station.
