HTS leader Jolani calls for no weapons to be used in celebrations

Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which spearheaded the jihadist groups that overthrew the 61-year-old Baath regime in Syria, addressed the Syrian people.
Jolani shared a video message inviting the public to the streets to celebrate the developments. Jolani also issued a warning against the use of weapons.
“I congratulate the Syrian people on the success of the revolution and I ask them to celebrate their happiness without weapons, without disturbing anyone,” said Jolani, adding that they would begin to rebuild Syria.
Jolani, who first showed his face to the public in 2016 and has undergone an image change since announcing that the HTS he founded had separated from Al-Qaeda, wore a vest and shirt in this video as well.
