'I am Narin' message received on father Arif Güran's phone in case file: Sent during the search

While the prison sentences handed down to the defendants in the case have been widely debated, the screenshot of a message that has now surfaced is likely to spark further controversy.

So much so that father Güran was also surprised when he saw the message on his phone. Now, all eyes have turned to the person identified as having sent the message.

'I AM NARIN' MESSAGE RECEIVED ON PHONE

The case file also contains a screenshot of a text message sent to father Arif Güran. According to the report filed on this matter in the case, a message was received on father Arif Güran's phone on August 26 at 18:20, while Narin was still being searched for. This message read “I am Narin”.

According to a report by Mynet, father Arif Güran, surprised by this situation, immediately informed the gendarmerie officers present. A screenshot of the message was taken, and a report was filed. The situation was also reported to the prosecutor's office.

WHO SENT THE MESSAGE HAS BEEN REVEALED

Investigations determined that the message was sent from the phone of a woman named G.E., who has a criminal record for “intentional injury, threats, and insult.” It is still unknown how the woman obtained the father's phone number and why she sent this message.

In the trial regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, the defendants standing trial while in custody—mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran—were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment, while Nevzat Bahtiyar was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison.
