In a statement published on Facebook, Gül stated that she has never engaged in politics for a position and has dedicated 26 years of service to the CHP.

Stating that she has never been someone to shy away from a struggle, Gül noted the following:

"Some of my colleagues in the council group did not hesitate to put me on the front lines to avoid getting involved in conflicts. It was unacceptable for those who shirked their responsibilities toward Beykoz to make others pay the price for what happened, and in the end, to try to label me as 'crazy' simply because I showed the courage to take the podium and speak.

When a person faces such injustice on top of being unfairly left alone, the resentment grows even deeper. I have never engaged in politics for personal gain.

But there is no longer any point in staying in a place where everyone prioritizes their own interests, thinks about their share of the pie, and where labor and loyalty have become invisible."

"ALL THESE VALUES HAVE DISAPPEARED"

Expressing that politics gains meaning not through slogans, but through loyalty, justice, and solidarity, Gül said, "All these values have disappeared within the Republican People's Party (CHP).

At the point we have reached today, calculations have replaced solidarity in the Republican People's Party, and personal interests have replaced collective struggle. Yet, politics is not a race to protect seats or individual positions; it is the responsibility to offer a better future to the people of Beykoz. In a place where personal interests take precedence over serving Beykoz, remaining silent or turning a blind eye did not sit well with my conscience."

Following Gül's resignation, the distribution of members in the municipal council has become: AK Party 13, MHP 2, CHP 14, and independent 2.
