Identities of 28 people who lost their lives in the Gayrettepe fire have been identified

In the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the fire that broke out during renovations at the Masquerade nightclub, located on the -1st floor of a 16-story building on Gönenoğlu Street in the Esentepe neighborhood of Yıldız Posta Avenue in Gayrettepe, 8 people were detained, including the responsible manager, 2 business partners, an accountant, the operations manager, and the person in charge of metal works related to the renovation.

Among those detained in connection with the fire at the venue, which has changed hands several times and where murders were alleged to have occurred in the past, those with criminal records for intentional injury and sexual harassment also drew attention.

IDENTITIES OF 28 PEOPLE DETERMINED

29 people lost their lives in the fire that broke out at a nightclub in Beşiktaş, Gayrettepe. The identities of 28 of those who lost their lives in the fire have been determined. It was also determined that one person, who had no identification on them, was a foreign national.

A fire broke out at a nightclub located under a 16-story building in Beşiktaş, Gayrettepe. According to initial findings, 29 people lost their lives in the fire. While an investigation into the incident has been launched, the bodies of those who lost their lives were taken to the morgue of Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital.

The names of the 28 citizens who lost their lives in the fire, excluding one person who had no identification on them and was determined to be a foreign national, are as follows:

Ahmet Sever, Ahmet Uzun, Alparslan Salih Derelioğlu, chef Atanur Aladağ, Barış Güngör, Emrah Demiroğlu, elevator worker Fahrettin Korkut, Gökhan Yıldırım, renovation worker Kadir Orhonoğlu, Mehmet Okumuş, Özkan Baş, Sinan Yılmaz, Adem Özçelik, Ahmet Kartal, Ahmet Mehduş, welder Akın Kıhrı, Binali Çayır, Cengiz Aksoy, Efe Demir, Gökay Tevlek (DJ), Gökhan Akbulut, Hüseyin Ak, Kadir Orhanoğlu, furniture maker Muhammet Ali Yıldırım, Ramazan Altan, Shır Agha Bigzade, Şivan Dolu, and welder Yılmaz Kıhrı.

It was learned that Kadir Orhanoğlu, one of the employees who died in the fire, was a father of 2, while Atanur Aladağ was a chef. Additionally, it was stated that father and son Yılmaz Kıhrı and Akın Kıhrı were working as welders during the renovation.

The bodies of those who lost their lives were brought to the morgue of Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital. Relatives who received the tragic news of the deceased arrived at the hospital courtyard.

Some of the waiting family members suffered nervous breakdowns. It was observed that the area in front of the Forensic Medicine Institute was very crowded.
