It was stated that those trapped under the rubble are Levent Bilir, who had been living in the building for approximately 2 years, his wife Emine Bilir, and the couple's children Nisa, Dilara, and Muhammed Emir. It was learned that the father, Levent Bilir, was a boiler repairman.

NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENT DESCRIBES THE MOMENTS

Hasan Durbaba, one of the neighborhood residents, said in a statement to reporters, "When we got up for morning prayer, we saw our neighboring building collapse with a loud noise. When we ran over, the building had completely tilted to the side. The building is 6 stories high. It has a pharmacy and a mezzanine floor. My friend, his wife, and his 3 children are in the building. Currently, a family of 5 is waiting to be rescued between the 2nd and 3rd floors."

"THEY CHECK EVERY 15 DAYS FOR TILTING OR LEANING"

Durbaba continued his words as follows:

"A metro line passes under our building. Because of the metro, they attached markers to our buildings 2 years ago. They check every 15 days to see if there is any tilting or leaning. It is already visible on the exterior of the buildings; there are markers. It is said that the building was damaged during the Balıkesir earthquake. The owner of the pharmacy and the contractor who built the building were called. There was a rumor that 'there is a crack.' I don't have full information on those, I only hear them as rumors. I live in the building next door. The person in the collapse is my close friend. We last spoke briefly yesterday."
