Identities of two bodies recovered in Kyrenia maritime accident confirmed
Following the maritime accident that occurred off the coast of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the identities of two female bodies recovered from the shipwreck this morning have been confirmed. TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that the bodies were identified as Şerife Özdemir and Nazmiye Özbolat.

TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel shared the latest status regarding the efforts following the maritime accident off the coast of Kyrenia. Stating that the identification process for the two female bodies recovered from the shipwreck this morning has been completed, Üstel said, "As a result of the work carried out by our Police Department, it has been determined that the bodies belong to Şerife Özdemir and Nazmiye Özbolat, and their families have been duly informed."
Üstel wished God's mercy upon the deceased, Şerife Özdemir and Nazmiye Özbolat, and extended his patience and condolences to their families and loved ones.
Efforts to find the 16 missing persons continue
Explaining the latest situation regarding the accident following the identification process, Üstel said, "Following the identification efforts, the number of people who lost their lives in the accident has been confirmed as 12, and the number of missing persons as 16."
Stating that the efforts to reach the missing persons are continuing without interruption, Üstel said, "Search operations to reach our missing people are continuing 24/7 without any breaks, with the strong support of the Republic of Turkey and the participation of all our relevant units."
Emphasizing that developments in the field are being followed moment by moment, Üstel said, "We are continuing our efforts with all our resources to reach our missing people. Once again, our nation's condolences."
