İlber Ortaylı falls ill on THY flight
Turkish historian and author İlber Ortaylı fell ill during a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight from İzmir to Istanbul. It was learned that Ortaylı is in good health following initial medical intervention, and the flight departed with a delay.

The Turkish Airlines (THY) Boeing passenger aircraft with tail registration TC-LJF, operating flight TK2337 from İzmir to Istanbul, left the gate at approximately 21:45 after completing pre-departure checks.
Turkish historian and author İlber Ortaylı, who was among the passengers on board, fell ill just before takeoff.
Upon the situation, the cabin crew took action, and the pilot decided to cancel the takeoff and return to the gate.
Following initial intervention by a doctor for the illness, no serious findings were detected, and it was learned that Ortaylı had fallen ill due to a blood pressure issue.
In the final checks, it was determined that there was no condition preventing Ortaylı from flying, and the captain pilot proceeded with the takeoff.
The THY flight from İzmir to Istanbul was delayed. Finally, it was learned that İlber Ortaylı's health is good.
