Imam father sexually abuses his 3 daughters: 'My father is also the father of my son!'

A man named Şerafettin T., who worked as an imam in Kırklareli, subjected his 3 daughters to sexual abuse for 5 years. One daughter became pregnant due to the abuse. The imam father who committed the abuse was sentenced to 78 years in prison. 

According to the report by Özgür Cebe from Sözcü; C.R.T., who became pregnant by her father, said the following in her statement to the prosecutor: 

'MY FATHER IS ALSO THE FATHER OF MY SON'

"I live at home with my mother, my father, my 4 siblings, and my son Süleyman. My father is also the father of my son Süleyman. My father raped me when I was 14 years old. He would make sexually explicit comments to me. Saying 'enough is enough,' I downloaded the KADES application and called the police. When the police arrived at the house, my mother and father tried to send them away by saying it was a misunderstanding. I want a DNA sample taken from the baby; I am filing a complaint against my father."

'MY SISTER ATTEMPTED SUICIDE'

The youngest sister, B.T., who had been subjected to abuse by her father since she was 10 years old, told the prosecutor the following: 

"My mother and father introduced the baby my sister gave birth to as our sibling. But I knew the baby belonged to my sister. My sister attempted suicide by drinking bleach. After giving birth, she was pretending to be insane. When I asked her why she was doing that, she said she was doing it so that my father would not approach her again."

'BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF MY HUSBAND...'

The mother, S.T., said in her statement, “My daughter C.R.T. came to me and said, ‘Everything is over.’ When I asked ‘What is over?’, she said, ‘My father raped me.’ When my daughter asked for help from the KADES application, the police came to the house. Because I was afraid of my husband, I said that we had pressed the application by mistake.”

IMAM FATHER SAID 'I WAS DRUNK'

The imam, Şerafettin T., argued that he started using alcohol while working in Kırklareli and that he abused his daughter C.R.T. under the influence of alcohol. “I had been sleeping with my daughters since they were little, but I had no bad intentions. I regret the events that happened with my daughters,” he said.

In the DNA test, it was reported that the baby was 99.99% the child of the imam, Şerafettin T. Following this, the arrested imam appeared before the judge in court and denied the accusations.

COURT HANDED DOWN A 78-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE

The Kırklareli High Criminal Court acquitted the mother, S.T. The imprisoned father was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the sexual abuse of his 14-year-old daughter, C.R.T.

Since the crime was committed against his own daughter, the sentence was increased by half to 30 years. Because he committed this act more than once, the provisions for chain crimes were applied, and he was sentenced to 40 years in prison. However, since the prison sentence stipulated by law for this crime cannot exceed 30 years, the final sentence was limited to 30 years.

He was also sentenced to 42 years in prison for the crimes of sexual abuse and deprivation of liberty against his middle daughter, T.T.

Including the 18 years and 9 months for the crime of sexual abuse against his youngest daughter, B.T., he was sentenced to a total of 78 years and 9 months in prison for the separate abuse crimes against his three daughters.

The 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation found the conviction decisions for the abuse of his daughter C.R.T., whom he impregnated, and his youngest daughter, B.T., to be in accordance with procedure and law, and upheld them separately.
