Imamoğlu and Yavaş visit Ümit Özdağ's mother

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş visited Gönül Özdağ, the mother of Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, who is currently being tried while in detention. 

Imamoğlu and Yavaş, who visited 90-year-old Gönül Özdağ at her home in Ankara, were welcomed at the door by a Zafer Party delegation. 

The two mayors visited Gönül Özdağ at her home for a while before answering questions from members of the press at the door. 

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had been detained in Ankara and brought to Istanbul over allegations that he insulted President Erdoğan during a speech in Antalya.

The investigation file opened by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was recently sent to Antalya due to a lack of jurisdiction.
